Custom Knife Handles
Pictured left is a recent client build, a small utility fixed blade with bandsawn one of a kind scales. Made from walnut, bird's eye maple and just a touch of purpleheart, this blade is sure to impress.
Shipped out with a hand-stitched leather sheath and a freshly stropped cutting edge, custom knives make a great gift for an outdoorsman.
Fantasy Map Case
Roughed up, ramshackle, and a little scorched, this map case is sure to make a statement when it hits the tabletop.
Made from reclaimed pine, the box is a collage of techniques to form one unique style. While the left side is connected using box joints and dowels, the right side uses 1/2" dowel pinned butt joints. The center divider is connected via dado joint on both sides, with added dowels on the left.
To add a weathered look the pine received a good scratch from a firm wire brush, was toasted with a blowtorch, and then, after a light sand, stained to seal everything in.
The whole piece was pulled together by the rustic wrought iron styled hinges, some brass screws for contrast, and a lovely little latch.
Floor-Style Vase
Large projects are lots of fun to make. This particular vase is made from black walnut and a stunning slab of cherry. The individual rings were offset to give an especailly segmented appearance to the piece.
